What I really liked about this book was both its emphasis on working from the historical records and working from your own intuition.

These things are not mutually exclusive, as some in the community might say. The ancient people who first used runes did so from their own intuition to be able to produce the rune poems, of which there are several, and are included in this book.

This book included the answer to every question I’ve ever had about runes and much beside, and yet it was concise and easy to read. You can dip in and out of it at will, or sit down for proper study when you have the time.

It’s a very useful book, and one I will return to often.
